i received this info from a friend when i mentioned the subject to her:
"Years ago, a gal I knew had a bitch she bred. When the bitch was like
(senior moment) 2 - 3 weeks in whelp, she broke out in a rash. She took her to
her
local vet, not her regular one. The vet gave the bitch a shot. When the
litter was born, the gal thought the males were missing testicles. The litter
appeared to be all males. When she took them to her regular vet and told him
about the shot, he knew immediately what happened. She worked at the library
and researched. She found articles on what happened. The shot was a steroid.
When a steroid is given so early in pregnancy, it masculates the females.
Upon inspection of the missing testicle males, the vulva had moved forward to
the
penis position and was covered with a penal flap covering it. There was an
empty testicle sack in the proper place."
has anyone heard of this before?
