So much for using railroad ties around the inside to prevent

Two of my girls got together yesterday by digging under the kennel fence (under
the railroad ties also). The hole is now filled with concrete and no I did not
try to drown them! :) They have been to the vet and are on amoxicillin and
Tritop ointment. They did not need stitches. This morning they look pink and
clean. Most of the wounds on the faces are scrapes, some deeper than others.
Anyone have any other ideas for preventing scars?
