My vet uses one of the local medical centers....with good results. Since I
start IV's on people in my job, I figured years ago I could draw blood from
my dogs.....When we need a progesterone, the vet gives me the blank
paperwork for the hospital, I fill it out for the dog (last name Flautt)
draw the blood, and drop it by the hospital lab on my way to work. Most of
the time the results are back around lunchtime......Once I absolutely had to
get blood from Angelina during a week that Jim was out of town. (not there
to help hold her leg still so I could draw the blood). When I had her on
the grooming table, with the garage door open, the cat walked by.....she
fixated on the cat, and voila....I got the blood! Two days later when I
needed a repeat....I brought the cat in the garage and shut the door and it
worked again!!
Ya do what ya have to do :-)

About a year ago, my vet switched from Antech to Idexx for prog tests
because Idexx was less expensive.

Why would someone/vet begin using Idexx Lab, which I see is up in
anada, instead of Antech (mainly concerned about progesterone timing
