I don't feel guilty at all about not having children here. It spares me the
heart attack I suffer everytime dogs and kids go running through the house and
yard. Chopper, Chase and my 2 y/o niece Onna are thick as thieves. You'd think
they were littermates. It's like the runing of the bulls; better get out of
their way. I am so surprised that neither has knocked her down, scraped her,
grabbed her or caused any other injury. It's almost too much for me to bear.

There's been more than once I've felt really guilty my dogs don't have a
houseful of children to call their own. They don't just like them, they are
FOOLS for them and have to be right, smack in the MIDDLE of whatever the
children are doing. IF that means getting stepped on, things spilled on them,
feet/tails run over with hot wheel cars, antenna from motorized cars hitting
them
in the face, so much the better. When the party is over, they are so
dejected it looks as if they've been beaten, and let a child get in trouble
and the
dogs sulk something awful:)
God help somebody they don't like getting near one of "their" children
though...worlds BEST babysitters:)

But the great thing is my 11 1/2 yr old girl who has never been around kids
has decided to accept them into the family. Now she is tough and has the
size to back it up. But she considers these boys OK. They have even brushed
her. Only think I can figure out is she is loosing her hearing and doesn't
see really well. Because the noise is killing me.
