There are ways to make money with the temp test --
We invite other breeds to participate. We have other events in conjuction. We
make a dog day out of it.
As for insurance costs - if your club has enough events, the cost of insurance
is not as bad if you have many sources of revenue to write it off against.
When we run a test we are organized and can efficiently run a full day.
I think charging $30 is reasonable but if you go much higher you will limit the
number of entres. Our purpose is to have as many dogs tested as possible.

OK Now I think I am seeing some of the problem with clubs holding
temperament tests.....If the club can only net $20 a dog(after the GSDCA
gets $5 per dog) and only have 30 dogs that gross' them $600.....then they
have to pay the evaluators expenses which are likely to take up almost all
of the $600! Why not allow the club to set their own price???? I have no
issue paying more for the eval $35 or $40(this is what the ATTS tests cost).
If the club could charge $40 per dog then after the GSDCA's $5 they would
get $1050, then after expenses for the evaluator(lets say $500) They could
atleast get $550 for the club. Maybe just maybe if the clubs could get
something out of it it might be worth all that time and effort.......seems
like an uphill battle to get anywhere!
