We sort of think about geography in relation to where we live, I guess.
     Only someone from the west would think that Colorado is not west.  It 
is.
       No one from the east would consider Ohio
part of the east.  It isn't.

         Texas is south.  (of everywhere except one or two other southern 
states...)

Maybe we should use the Census Bureau's divisions:  the Midwest consists of: 
Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, 
North Dakota, South Dakota, OHIO, and Wisconsin.

The geographic center of the country is in the Midwest.

According to the Census Bureau, the West consists of 13 states:  Alaska, 
Arizona, California, COLORADO, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana,
Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.

We also can divide the country further:  Pacific Northwest, Northeast or New 
England, Mid-Atlantic, the South, the Deep South, or any way you want to do 
it.  Some people consider Southern California another country all its own.

   In point of fact, Denver is considered the easternmost part of the WEST.

     The average American would definitely consider Colorado part of the 
west, and if they've never looked at a map, they'd consider Texas
west, too, but that would be from watching too many movies.  Again, the 
average American would consider Ohio MidWest.

What silly things we argue about.

It doesn't matter anyway.........soon nobody will be able to get anywhere 
from there....or from here.
