I spoke with the L.A. Animal Regulations Commission on Thursday to
inquire about the status of the draft they working on for L.A. City
Council's request to create a S/N ordinance. While AB1634 has not been
finalized, L.A.City Council noted in the motion that they have adopted
it, the ordinance has been drafted, and it's at the city attorney's
office for legal jargon.
Time frame:
Based on the Commission's requirements, the City Attorney is currently
drafting the statute.
It will return to the Commission. Turnaround time 2-4 weeks unless
it's fast tracked. The Commission meets every 2 weeks.
Then, on to the City Council's Public Safety committee.
Then, to the Council for a vote.
