My favorite breeding book is Dog Breeding for Professionals by Dr. Herbert Richards. My mentor, Ellen Heintz, lent me her copy back in the 80s when I bred my first litter and I subsequently bought a copy of my own. Chapters include: Who First Bred Dogs, Dog Anatomy, Courtship and Mating, What's Going Wrong, Preparing for Puppies, Puppies, What's Wrong Again, Puppyhood and The X and Y of Breeding. This is a GREAT book, easily understood, with much valuable information. A MUST HAVE!!
