Since doubling is prohibited in Can and at UKC shows why do we(myself
included)have such a problem with it at AKC shows. My daughter has been showing
my bitch in UKC(she has a Grp1 over Ch. & a Grp 4) and considering she was
trained on a 10 foot leash and trained to move out she's done quite well
without her bells or me being there. It can be just takes training.

Interesting you should mention that. In Muncie there was a rep present. I
had two animals entered. The judges made not doubling clear. I did not
double my dogs..they still performed. That is not to say that they could
have done so with extensive gaiting..but they did do so for the amount of
gaiting needed for those shows. I am not advocating what people do in
regard to doubling..however I am certain there are ways to work around some
things. Obviously, some exhibitors and handlers have been successfully
working around things like color issues and temperament issues for
years..so this won't be a stretch. Christine
