I have heard the rule against double grooming. But, it is just a suggestion
by the AKC, and not written down anywhere.
As I understand it, the judge is in charge of stopping all double grooming,
from inside the ring. If they see it going on, they should stop the show and
try to control it. Double grooming is often done in other breeds, but
discouraged in German shepherds.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
