It is because the folks on the west coast have demonstrated that they are
willing to travel. The east coast folks have demonstrated that they are not
willing to travel west.. Until the west coast folks refuses to travel until
they are treated equal nothing will change. I vote we put together our own
special West coast event. We have the workers, we have the entries and can host
all phases of competition including the working dog folks.
Day one would be for celebrating the new folks and young handlers, for
education and vendor surfing. A Day like Ed would enjoy. Maybe we could fit a
Schutzhund trail on this day. It would depend on how big an entry we would draw.
Day 2 herding all phases along with herding instinct test.
Day 3 obedience
Day 4 conformation.
I just want to go to an event that can handle all events and not have a
conflict. I want to watch obedience, herding, agility, working dog sport and
not have to give up conformation to see these events. Isn't it possible to
judge a conformation entry of 200 to 300 in a single day? Who knows? maybe not.

Just more reasons that a National should be rotated to a site on the West Coast
--according to Joan's corrected post below there are now 4 states in the West
Coast that are listed with California having the highest entries.
