Seems I remember some cream or something that was supposed to solve the problem... Are they scabby bleeding as Danes get (shoe boils) or rough elbows? For anything open I use a combo of DMSO with zinconium in it. Heal quickly and softens the skin. I use 5X Aloe Gelly (whole leaf aloe) on the calluses. My oncologist had recommended that to me for the damaged skin from radiation, and since I have found it also the best on the dogs. It will soften the callus and literally have it gone in about 10 days with a 2 x a day application.
