Nick was a very dark blanket black and tan.............NOT a Bi Color.......nor
was Bono
A Bi Color has NO blendings. The color is just TWO colors. The marking is
cut off
quite sharp with no blending shades when it meets the black.....about halfway
down the
front leg and to the hock in the rear. The hock is pretty much black in the
back....as is the
under part of the tail except way up high.
Typically the belly does not have any color.. The dog is pretty much a black
dog with a
band of color about mid-leg down...and the inside of the legs. Some will
have a dot eyebrow and
cheek spot. Some 'might' even have a spot on the front of each side of the
chest....
NO blending or shading of color.
When it has a shading or blending up on the legs....there is always a variation
of the tan and
therefore they are not bi colors. No blending up on the elbows or back of
the rear quarters.....

I wouldn't call him "close", but I think a dog is either a bi color or he's
not. Looks to me that Nick was a (very nice) blanketed dog.
