I would by the "furminator" you can find it at Pet Smart
(yes I know it is sold on tv :):) It is expensicve ($45)
BUT WORTH EVERY PENNY. It ONLY takes out undercoat, and
you can fill a trash bag very quickly. It will not touch
the outercoat. I was skeptical at first, but took the
"risk" of the money since my blackand red girl's red was
starting to wash out. Her handling instructor (who is alo
a groomer) told me about, she said I was seeing undercoat
that is why her red was fading. Used the furminator, and
it took all the dead undercoat out that my rake did not.
It's amazing. Her ocoat has never looked better, and her
outer coat has not pulled out at all which can sometimes
happend with a rake.
