[ SHOWGSD-L ] antibiotics for pregnant bitch

How safe is it to use cephalexin on a bitch that may be in whelp? I have a
2 year old sheltie, 23 Pounds, that had part of a sand burr lodged in her
front paw, the area swelled and the vet lanced it to allow it to train,
found a few white blood cells but not many. She may be in pregnant, will
find out on Saturday, going in for an ultrasound. Not sure if I just soak
it and hot pack it to allow it to keep draining if I need to give the
antibiotic and if it is safe.
