Who is Elibible for Grand Champion Competition:
3. Champions that win Non-Regular Classes and become eligible for Best of
Breed Competition. (Altered or spayed CH veteran class winners at independent
specialties are eligible)
I think that explains it pretty well.
I would think the AKC would ask for the ribbon back if such occurs. I had
entered a dog a while back and AKC claimed his paperwork was not official with
AKC at the date of the show, and was asked to return the ribbon and his placing
was dis-allowed. I would imagine the same procudures will apply.

So.....<VBG>..............Does the judge just hand out the select ribbons (if
deserving) and not worry about if the dog is a CH or not?? (for the dogs from
the non regular class ie: veterans) .....And does the exhibitor just smile and
say thanks!?.....or does he say, thanks, but my dog is not a CH and give the
ribbon back?.....And if he smiles, takes the ribbon for a dog that's not a CH,
and the AKC doesn't allow the Gr CH pts, does he have to send the ribbon
back?
Do you think I could make it a little more complicated? LOL
