In defense of culling puppies, back in the day there was no such thing as
limited registration so breeders felt the need to cull in order to keep the
faults, color or otherwise) from being bred back into the breed by unscrupulous
breeders.
There is no excuse to cull for non health related issues now, and breeders
that do it are either lazy or simply trying to hide faults that their lines
might be producing.

letting it live after birth. In Dobes the dilute comes with thin hair. This
causes skin problems for many blues and dilute browns. Some breeders are

Joanne James, a Florida Dobe breeder had one litter with 3 blue dogs. She sold
one to a vet and one to another well verses person. The 3rd ended up next door
to me. He was not kept nearly as well as Joanne would have liked, and I won't
get started. But the dog was happy and a good friend of mine until one of the
too many workers there left the gait open and both Blue and his Rottie buddy,
Pebbles, got out and have not been seen in 2 months.
So, now that we all know that blue and brown GSD's can live full lives, they
can be sold as pets with spay neuter contracts and be great companions.
