I have been asked to correct the post about my client who lost her dogs to
the authorities. I referred to them as Pit Bulls as that is what was used to j
ustify the killing of them all. In truth they were AKC recognized American
Staffordshire Terriers.
Part of the breed remained outside the AKC and they are shown as American
Pit Bulls, but too many of the breeds are found under the incorrect label.
It might take a great deal of the AKC recognized breed promotion to change
that.
