Kim and I are back home from the Raleigh shows. We're tired, but quite amazed by the performance of our very special *homebred* "brother-sister act!" Where to begin??? First, we'd like to thank everyone who worked so hard to put on the Tarheel Cluster and the GSDC of Greater Raleigh Specialty shows. Also, thank you to everyone who was so supportive of Kim, me and our dogs. After almost a year hiatus from showing, our "Sarah" returned to the ring and finished with a bang! To finish, she went BOB over Specials and on to a Group 3 in tough competition. Our thanks to Lenny Brown for his expert handling and professionalism. Sarah wasn't done though... At the Raleigh Specialty show, under judge Lew Bunch, Sarah went BOB. Many thanks to Mr. Bunch for his appreciation of our girl, and many, many thanks to Miss Olivia Calabrese for guiding Sarah to this great win! Olivia, you are the best!!! If that wasn't enough, Sarah's litter brother, "Moonie," who we entered in the shows for ring training, ended up going home with 3 majors and 9 points!!! Our heartfelt thanks to Olivia for her patience with this "very green" boy. Olivia did an incredible job of keeping our, sometimes "distracted," young man in check and showing the judges his smooth and correct gait. Also, our thanks go out to Patrick Mazepink for taking Moonie back in for Olivia at the Specialty show. Now for our thanks to the judges who appreciated our very special boy: 03/21 - Cary KC; Ed Barritt - RWD (Major Reserve) 03/22 - Alamance KC; Eric Ringle - WD (3 points) 03/24 - GSDC of Greater Raleigh Specialty Show; Lew Bunch - WD, BOS (3 points) 03/25 - Fayetteville KC; Marie Falconer - WD (3 points) I've got to tell you when, under Lew Bunch, Moonie went BOS to his litter sister's BOB, it was like a dream come true!!! A dream come true for a number of reasons... Moonie's "story" will be told in another post. I think it will touch the hearts of many people on this list. Last, but not least... We'd like to thank Donna Calabrese, Olivia Calabrese and Amanda Yowell for their amazing care and conditioning of Moonie and Sarah. A couple months ago, Donna met Moonie and it was love at first sight, so we decided to share him with her. He's now infatuated with his new third "mom." Kim and I found that there's a lot of time to waste at AB shows, so we hung out at Donna and Olivia's setup quite a bit. We loved playing with the beautiful dogs and watching them being worked each day. Donna has some gorgeous bitches with her right now. There were a couple Ray Bearone daughters that I really wanted to steal! <G> Sarah is Ch. Wellborn-Allemande's Little Girl Blue and Moonie is Wellborn-Allemande's Behind Blue Eyes. They are by Sel Ch. HiCliff Bronson v Kaleef out of BIS/BISS Ch. Kaleef's Rose of Tralee. Thanks for letting us brag.
