I was hoping someone would bring it up...I saw a Ch. Male at a ALL BREED show
with such a clearly white blaze...people asked me about it...I know the Dog was
beautiful none the less...but it had a big ole blaze on his chest!!
He almost went BIS for the day too!
I don't know...but...hmmm. Angela

No! The e-e epistatic white gene does NOT cause Irish Spotting s>I !
A problem was with being white, the presence of white parts was not noticeable.
That, coupled with the CARRIER STATUS OF THE COLORED PARENT FOR IRISH
SPOTTING AS WELL is what produced the white feet and et cetera.
And don't try and tell anyone that white chests, feet and faces (especially
chinny chin chins) are a problem of the past!!! All one has to do is look at
the current ads and current litters out there (and YES I'm talking ASLs) and
you will plainly see white chests on adults (at the very least) and I'm not
just talking a little star either and white feet tail tips chins and stripes up
the muzzle/skull on puppies!
Having a white parent or grandparent has nothing to do with the amount of white
spotting on them.
For those who are curious- just ask for a link for a litter with almost a
half-white pedigree and there's only. one speck of white on one (of 6) puppy's
chest less than the size of a pencil eraser in diameter when they were born. It
was gone by 10 weeks. All the other pups had no white at all.
So, how does one explain an all color bred litter having bunches of white on
pups and and the one with a white factored parent produce about none but for
it's STILL in the genetics, or not?
