YES, the majority of AWSA members were in the WGSDCI until 1996. When the
members of the WGSDCI voted AGAINST breed separation, these members left and
formed AWSA.
The WGSDCI and WGSDCA do not permit whites registered as UKC WS or AWSA WS to
compete in their conformation shows any longer. And, those whites should not
want to compete at our shows because our breed standard is very different from
the AWSA breed standard. We want whites who look and move like German
Shepherds. AWSA does not.
