Once again the GSDC of Memphis hosted a perfect show weekend in Forrest City
... along with the great weather and fun as promised <G>. Thank you to all of
the members for their hard work and making this show fun year after year. The
hospitality Saturday was fantastic, lots of great food and fun with other
exhibitors and club members. If you've never been to these shows you are
missing something very special...
Our dog "Caballo" was first shown in his Futurity last June and won his class
under Fran Ford. We put him away to grow up for a bit and then got
him out at the Triangle shows where he won his class the first two days of the
shows and then on Sunday went RWD. Caballo is out of "Oscar" (2009 Best in
Show Winner, 2009 #1 Futurity/Maturity Sire, 2007 Canadian Grand Victor, 2X
Canadian Select Champion, 2007 U.S. Maturity Victor - Best in Maturity, 3X
Select Excellent American Champion Marquis' Stealing the Show, ROM, TC, OFA)
and "Kida" (2006 Futurity Victrix - Best in Futurity, 2007 Maturity Victrix,
Select Champion Marquis' Blonde Bombshell, OFA). Caballo is owned by Dan and
Liana New, Liz Oster and Judy DeRousse.

Liz, Dan and I are so happy to have added Judy DeRousse as an owner this past
winter. She has been such a supporter of everything that I've done
with dogs and in being a true friend and travel companion. Anyone that knows
her just loves her like I do. It's awesome to have her enthusiasm and
love towards Caballo. We appreciate her so much and she's such an awesome
friend.

Anyhow... We decided to show Caballo in Forrest City and I have a couple of
BIG brags that I want to share......

Saturday under D.D. Ardoin, Marquis' Horse With No Name "Caballo" went Winner's
Dog/Best Opposite Sex and got his first 4 points!! He was
perfectly handled by Liz (his other mother). Thank you D.D. Ardoin for giving
Caballo his very first points and being patient with his not so
expert doubler.

Sunday under Lew Bunch, "Caballo" went Winner's Dog/Best Opposite Sex again and
got his next four points!! Now how cool is that?!! 2 majors, 8 points in two
days ... Thank you Lew for giving Caballo the win, it was sooo awesome! He was
again perfectly handled by Liz :)

Okay, more way cool stuff! Saturday AND Sunday, his mother "Kida" won Best of
Breed, thank you again D.D. and Lew :) She was shown beautifully by the 2009
Best Junior Handler from the National - Maria Oster, who one would easily think
is a professional handler. Maria and Kida made their debut in Memphis two
years ago and I'm telling you... they are the coolest team together with
Maria's long legs and Kida's beautiful movement. Maria's skill level in
handling is incredible, she's a natural!! She can definitely hang with the big
dogs :) Kida is owned by Doug and Liz Oster and I.

It was really cool to see Mom (Kida) and Son (Caballo) in the ring together for
Breed... and then you had Mom (Liz) and Daughter (Maria) handling them in
Breed! I loved it!

I admire how Kent spent time working with Maria this past weekend. They were
gaiting his dogs and he worked with her on tricks of the trade. Kent
was very patient and seemed to really enjoy the opportunity to share his
knowledge with her. It was really cute. Raul (it was his birthday weekend)
taught her about grooming and getting dogs ready for the ring. All in all it
is so nice to be around genuine friends that work together as a team and
have fun doing it for the love of the dogs and the people.

I also wanted to say a quick congratulations to Curt and Kris Laczniak and
Martha Simmonett on their RWD from the 12-18 Class on Sunday. Anne Isle
Promise Keeper or "Tucker". A big congrats to Bob Braue, Kent Boyles and
Sheree Moses for Winner's Bitch both days on Kaleef's Alexis V Kenlyn.

Thanks for letting me brag and stuff. It was a very fun weekend overall!!
Since I seldom post I thought I would write a book <G>

P.S. If you run in to Liz, ask her to show you her circus dog Boomer!
