The entry fees should more than cover the costs for ribbons & trophies for the
extra classes
.
I remember going to Nationals years ago with much larger entries where the ring
was split for all the classes on the first day. WHY do the powers that be
insist on gaiting PUPPIES around that huge ring over & over again. Go back to
the split rings, start dogs when bitches are winding up & everything would move
much more quickly!!!

Well said and I am in total agreement. Also, if you have these extra classes
there have to be 16 extra trophies and ribbons purchased. More costs when we
are
trying to watch the bottom line.
The problems are not insurmountable but we need to look at the past mistakes
and
address them.
The membership wanted a shorter National, when asked, and then it was made
longer?
Why do we have these big facilities when the entry is small every year? We
would
have a much better selection of places if we cut this down and less costs.
The streaming video was good this year as opposed to other years but with such
a
small audience it's hard to sell sponsors on spending money to back it. I bet
almost everyone that bought it would have paid say $50 for it.
Just random thoughts.
