I had a litter some years ago that had a female that had looked promising at 12 weeks, and God awful at 6 months.. I tried everything in my power to place her... I tried to give her away to anyone just so I wouldn't have to keep feeding her (well, not quite, but you get my point).. She was offered to many on this list who were looking at the time.. no takers.. at 9 months, something happened.. (a magic wand???) at 11 months, she walked into the ring and became a CH almost in a single weekend > including several group 1sts and a Best Puppy in Show- she went on the become my second AM.CH. just as easily.. What a gorgeous "swan" did this ugly duckling turn into!!! She said she wanted to keep the one male only and did I want to come over and see the pups. I told her I would be over to see them but I had a female that was about to deliver. Our beautiful girl died 3 hours after she had her C-Section and I was in such a state that I actually forgot about the pups from Angie and Q. Currin then called me and said she was bringing the last of the pups - 11 weeks old now, a girl and a boy, to our local show and she wanted to sell the girl as she was "weird and long". Oh boy. I told her that I was sorry I hadn't gotten over to see them, but I would definately look at these as I LOVED Angie and it was My persistence to get Angie pregnant to Q as she missed the 2 times before. Currin told me that everytime people came to her house to buy this one girl, she would go sit in the corner and not want touched. She got her out of the van...she took a few steps..and - NO KIDDIN > G - came right up to me kissing me. I had Currin gait her a few steps..I looked at my freind Paula and we both agreed..she was coming home with me. From that day, Ruby's temperament has been Fabulous, as was her Great Aunt that we lost from the C-Section, and I wonder if her spirit...hummmm. > BUT, That's not the only one, as Ruby's dad was sold to the Rowley's...why he has Rowley at the end of his name, as a "starter show dog". I knew he had potential, he was a lovely pup, but I had his brother , Quest, and 3 sisters....TOO Many. The Rowley's bought a new house and had to move into an Apartment for a while so they asked me to take Quno back. I asked them to stay on as Owners as it wasn't going to be long in the Apartment, but they decided not to. He was a gangly, chunky, no angled, and definately NOT looking too good when I got him back. But, when he moved...Ohhhh wow. I decided to keep him. Quite a few people saw him at 7-9 mths old. YUCKO-But, I still loved him. > SO, HANGING in there .... and Luck... the best Advice. As I said.
