I tell my clients not to leave such toys with serious chewers alone. I have a
few lying around but nobody cares here.
ER vets are so expensive!

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] WARNING "Buda Bone" rope
I thought I would give a warning for those who didn't see this on the news this
evening. A lady's shepherd almost died when a so called, "Buda Bone" (a
flavored rope with two knots at each end/designed to clean the teeth) was not
only chewed on like intended but ingested parts of it also (this was not a
puppy). It got caught in the shepherds intestines & couldn't move. The shepherd
had to have surgery that cost her owner $5,000. Thank heavens the dogs life was
saved. They said anything that can become stringy like this rope is very
dangerous to many dogs if not all.
