Thank You Kay. It does seem we often suffer from 'short term' memories when
it is time to vote.
Also when we complain....so many seem to feel they need to jump in and defend
the Board as if we
were being unreasonable in our simple request to be REMEMBERED by the Board.
We all already
know the Board works very hard...it is a difficult and thankless job to try to
please a big membership.
BUT....before anyone jumps in to defend the decisions by the Board.....PLEASE
REMEMBER.
* The National on a rotating basis, with sod, REASONABLY easy to get to for
2/3 of the Country on
EACH " reasonably" Eastern and then Western side of the Country. THIS
is the one consistent,
constant, reasonable, request that all exhibiting members that support
the National ask for!!
Reasonable rotation for the National.....# ONE!!
* Knowing how our Board voted to make these decisions.... AND how they
voted.... Be more OPEN.
* AND...some understanding of our Expenditures and Income and LOSSES in our
Treasury Report. PLEASE!
Maybe it is just me..........but I do not see anything "RANTING" about these
THREE consistent and constant
requests. We are NOT all over the place in our demands...and I do not believe
these requests to be unreasonable.
Please......if you are running for the Board........please consider these
requests from your members!!

It is Sept 1 .... You can now RANT!
I hope when people vote, they remember all the closed sessions that certain
Board members voted for; remember that we no linfer can call in to hear what
our represented voted for or against and that the majority of current Board
members voted to go against the wishes of the membership and have thrown out
rotation of the National location for the next two years and perhaps beyond.

Ms Kroh ( can't wait to meet that lady) sent a post to the list today sating
that she received her ballot today and she requested that every one vote! I
responded in my usual lackadaisical manor! I decided NOT to respond the way I
really wanted to! It surly would have been one of my long RANTS! So after some
thought, and some cashews, I have rethought my words and I can now send them
and perhaps tick-off only 50% of the listers instead of my usual 99%. My
impression of secrets is that we use them to protect ourself or some one else (
sometimes both). Secrets are important, we all have them. But now I'm gonna
tell YOU a secret , but you can tell any one you want! With very few exceptions
( and I won't go into the exception in this post) when you vote for someone who
represents you, you should be able to know how that person voted. If not how
would you know if the person you voted for shares most or many of your views
and ideas? And if you don't know how these representatives of yours voted , you
don't know which ones to vote for or against? Talk about a real "catch
22"...now let me move from the general to the specific! The admin of this list
( the watch dogs) put out a questioner to all theses running for office last
election! Guess what... Only three or four responded ( those were the only
folks I voted for) and it gets worse! This board ( president) eliminated the
member "call-listen-in".... And then the biggest outrage of all ( okay I'm
close to Ranting) the board voted in secret to move the National ( this is NOT
a post about the National location, it's about voting). If you agree with my
simple definition of a secret , who was the board trying to protect? I think
most of us will come to the same answer! So when WE vote for directors in the
next few weeks just tell me if you can , how will we know who and what we're
voting for! I had one more sentence but it would clearly take this into the
RANT stage, so I'll stop now and watch football! And eat more cashews! The Rant
post I did NOT send was better! Ed Hill
