that" suddenly throw the whole nutritional balance out of whack.  Some

natural magnesium with chelated zinc - and a tablespoon of cod liver oil a day. 
 Supposedly magnesium plays an important role in the strengthening of 
ligaments.  But just 20mg of magnesium is something like 600% of an adults 
recommended daily allowance!  Some fat-soluble vitamins, when given in excess, 
can 
actually become toxic to the dog (and humans as well).

So, while we mean well, we could actually be doing more harm than good.

The RDA (recommended daily allowance) is a cookie cutter approach and meant 
for someone already in good health who likely will not remain in good health if 
they follow this protocol.  Others may need more of one vitamin/mineral or 
another.  "Overdosing" on supplements has never hurt me, evidently, since in 
the 
10 years I have done so, I have had no cold nor flu nor have I taken any 
pharmaceutical drugs.
  
With some of the foods provided us today, genetically altered food included, 
we NEED to take supplements to give us the nutrients we are not getting in our 
food.  Buy certified organic foods when you can.
BTW, there is a form of Vit. E called dl-tocopherol which is man made and not 
the natural form.  This form is worse than not taking it at all.
