Okay - let me post publically here.
Dalmatians are known to have problems with stones and crystals and crystals are
easy to manage.
The best thing you can do is make sure the dog is getting PLENTY of water -
hydration is extremely important. The other thing - crystals are a "moment"
thing - sometimes you see them and sometimes you don't. You can run a
urinalysis on a Dal first thing in the morning and find crystals (when
everything is stagnent).. Make them drink and the crystals get flushed out.
And I have fed raw to GSDs for three years and had no problems and 100's of Dal
folks feed raw and swear by it..
Hydration, hydration, hydration. And remember, some crystals occur because of a
UTI - even if the vet can't find one, sometimes a dose of antibiotics and lots
of liquids help..
