Jessie's bloodwork turned out to completely normal. After 3 days of treatments 
- eye drops and antibiotics, his eyes are clear and bright again. We go back to 
the vet on sat, but it looks like this was simply an eye infection. We believe 
that if it were more than that, it would not have responded so dramatically to 
the treatment...
We are all very happy, and Jessie is loving the cookies he gets after enduring 
me putting in all those eye drops!!
thanks again for all you support - I know I learned from this.. our busy lives 
don't often lend us the time to really "LOOK" at our dogs... I know I will be 
looking a lot more closely from now on..

  True, but thanks for sharing....we all learned something today.  I've never 
heard of it either....just goes to show again that if you're in this long 
enough, something of everything will come your way.
      Please keep us updated on how he does.  I hope he's back to normal soon 
with no long-term problems.
