[ SHOWGSD-L ] UPDATE Senior GSD SAVED :-) kinda long

I want to thank everyone who wrote me about this SENIOR guy! He is here now
and I know he is happy that I rescued him. He wagged his tail when we met and I
had tears in my eyes. He tried to jump in my van and I helped him up. Yes, he
is dirty and weight isn't too bad, BUT he is FRIENDLY. He talked a little on
the way to my house and it sounded SO familiar, I had thought I had a "GHOST"
in my van of my "Sunny" whom I lost at age fourteen two years ago. This old
"Guy" resembles him a LOT and even has that old man bark like my "Sunny". What
is really scary when my husband first seen him he asked me if that is "SUNNY'S"
brother.. scary...
I have someone that works with local shelters and when a PB German Shepherd
comes in they send me pics. The shelter found him wondering down a highway,
no German Shepherd rescue wanted him :-(
This "Guy" was sponsored so the shelter wanted a rescue Group to get him. It
is a shame I had to go thru a "Golden Retreiver" rescue Group (thanks to Pat
Lukos and Joe) to get him out thru a 501c.
I will take him to the vets (at my own expense) have him checked out and
heartworm tested and he will get a BATH tomorrow.
I think he has found his forever home.....
