I remember one show weekend I was at was giving out stainless 2qt bowls for
wins. Lucky me that I was showing a number of dogs and got a few! I liked
them so much, I bought more and I have used them ever since.
Most practical "trophy" I ever won, and they were less than $3 per -- very
practically priced for a specialty show.
For "big" prizes, one year we gave out pre-paid tickets for club wear-
WD/WB got a t-shirt, hoodies for BOW, a golf shirt with long sleeves for
BOB. Yes, it was more expensive, but the show still turned a profit (I was
treasurer). For the expense of nice rosettes today, I believe the clothing
items cost less!
I sure would love to get a photo frame with a free show win photo-- or even
a part paid show photo! I would be delighted to get that as a prize--
whoever did that had a wonderful idea.
I also loved the stained glass for placements at last nationals agility
trial. So did everyone else!
