As always, it takes me a day to catch up from being gone all weekend, now all
caught up, so here goes.
First, I would like to thank the Shoreline & Illini GSD clubs for putting on
another great "Triangle" show weekend. I always
look forward to these shows, mostly to see everyone after the long winter
months. A few less faces this year, but still plenty
of friends to visit and have fun with.
There were so many nice dogs at this show, it was great to watch and exhibit
among all these fine animals. Since my girl Trinket
is only 20 months old, we decided to only show her in one of the shows on
Saturday, so we picked the afternoon show under
Nancy Harper.
I would like to say a huge "Thank You" to Liz for showing Trinket for us at
these shows. Liz did an absolutely
amazing job with her. Without sounding arrogant or biased, I don't believe
either one of those two lovely ladies ever put a
foot down wrong, they made a great team and it was fun to watch. She won a
quality filled open class and then went on to
go Winners Bitch for 4 points, thank you so much Nancy Harper. I have to say
that the winners bitch class was pretty
amazing and can easily be described in one word, "consistency"! :)
Then on to Best of Breed competition, what a great group of dogs. What an
honor it was for Trinket to get to go head to head
with her kennel sister "Selena", who is better known as Windfall's Who Says V
Chablis. Neither of those two girls ever gave
an inch, and the beautiful Selena ended up going Best of Breed, with Trinket
going Best of Winners. It was just an amazing day,
the ring side support was wonderful and I can't thank all the people involved
with this young girl enough. First, her breeder
and co-owner Bobbie Schiffelbein, who allowed me to take this beautiful puppy
home at 10 weeks. Then the other co-owners,
Judy DeRousse and Carole Michael, who cheer her on and support us in everything
we've done so far. Most of all, her best
friend as well as co-owner Tiffany Bartley, who has guided her show career from
day one. She is the reason Trinket looks &
performs the way she does, always having her in impeccable condidtion and
knowing exactly where to be at the right time and
the right place.
Sunday was another fun show day, everyone got to leave at a reasonable time to
start their journeys home. As usual, this ended
up being longer than intended, but I like to acknowledge the people who make
all this so much fun and possible.
