[ SHOWGSD-L ] Training - the "real" thing

Today, it rained. I am truly happy. BUT, with the futurities just around
the corner, we are all a little nervous about getting our "puppies"
trained. Weeeeellllll, it seems that we show outside regardless of
weather, so we train outside regardless of weather. The dogs loved it, the
rest of us got cold and wet. It was great fun and everyone took the
weather well. It is really nice to have dedicate people learning how to do
it right. We now have several "stand in" handlers who can help get dogs
back in the ring. Some will be showing their own dogs. We have the
opportunity to address problems as they arise and everyone is learning -
even the spouses who observe are beginning to catch on and make suggestions.
