Carol, you are right. Be careful too that if the front label says "Made from
American Rawhide", or USA Rawhide, etc. Check the back of the pkg, the small
print where it's MADE. Usually, it's Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, etc. The
process of soaking and twisting, etc, the actual "making" of the rawhide is
the poisonous part, and it doesn't matter that the hides are from American
Beef.
I work in a well known PETsTORE(hint), and I'm constantly telling them to
get rid of all this junk. They only have 1 brand that's made here!!! If I
use rawhide, it's for younger pups to chew to strengthen ear muscles from
chewing, but I read the label, and buy a HUGE bone that they can't chew any
off of, then I take it away after awhile-watching them the entire time.
ALWAYS read the back...made in.....part.
