My client called me and said she and her partner were being sued by a
co-owner, and needed my help.

I flew up to San Francisco and took over the case.
It seems that my clients had a new male who they sold a co-ownership to a
man in Texas. He was getting half of all the stud fees, but didn't feel he
was
getting the money back he thought he should get.

This Texan hired an attorney and filed a law suit over the contract, and
wanted damages for his investment.

They set the depositions of the defendants, and it was an attorney who knew
nothing about dogs. His questions were difficult to answer, such as why did
someone pay to breed to the stud dog, but never was asked to pay for breeding
to the bitch. After all, that is how it is done for people! He also had
trouble understanding how his client had to pay for half a dog, and yet the
other half was given to them. It seems the previous owner had cancer, and was
concerned that the dog have a great home.

There was a lot of crying, and harsh words. As we approached trial I
convinced the plaintiff and his attorney to settle. The terms were the dog
would be
back fully to to owners, my clients, and the Texan got a puppy, and another
puppy in the future.

Two months later the dog was taken to the national and become AOE GV Ch
Woodside's Nestle's Quick of Mervierin.

CTH still have "GV QUICK" as a license plate.

I have been with Quick at least a dozen times whenever I was at CTH, and he
was always magnificent, and one of the most noble looking dogs I have seen.
He roomed free at the kennel, and would be there to greet everyone when they
drove up. I do admit, it took some getting used to seeing this fantastic
animal waiting to see if you dared open your door. I think he got so he
remembered me, but he never fawned over anyone but Cappy and Gloria.

This is still one of my favorite cases.
