PeTA is loud and noisy and gets people all riled up, but the real danger comes
from their counterparts in suits, HSUS/ASPCA and increasingly ALDF. They go to
the politicians and the courts and working from the headlines, get more and
more of our choices in animals removed.

Tedi and I discuss this all the time.
It is my position that PETA is losing. I base that on the fact that
television, radio, and magazine ads use more and more dogs, even if not for
dog products. Also, the dog food industry is growing and stores selling dog
products are doing well.
When they depict a happy family, it always includes a dog.
I know we see so many examples of PETA and what they do, but I think it is
more that we see isolated examples of bad behavior, than that they are making
an impact on society.
I also noticed that German shepherds are second again in popularity with the
AKC. I am not sure if that is a good thing, but it sure does keep our image
in front of the public.
