[ SHOWGSD-L ] The "Dime a Day" challenge

We would like to thank everyone who participated in our Dime a Day challenge
for LHSH.
At this time we have raised 421$ via our paypal site with many more emails
indicating checks that are in the mail! We are thrilled and grateful for all of
the people who have donated their time by talking about us to others... donated
their dimes for this campaign...offered to foster....drove a leg of a
transport...purchased the materials we have for sale... offered a table at
their show....or in ANY way supported this effort to save "the least of
these"....We need you...one and all! Please "stay tuned" for our Rescue update
on Friday. We are working in conjunction with GSRCNY to bring to light the
horrific state of some of the NYS shelters.
Tami Evans has opened THIS listers eyes as to the barbaric treatment GSDs are
receiving in some of these facilities and I would like to personally thank her
for her help!
And while I understand that some of you felt less than "warm and fuzzy"
regarding the posts made encouraging everyone to send in their donations and
post it tp the list, I believe that the lister was attempting to draw a circle
that would bring everyone in; making everyone feel a part of the success of not
only the campaign but of LHSH specifically. Sometimes, in emails, efforts and
language are misconstrued. I am certain that there was no intent on the listers
part to harass anyone. I offer apologies on her behalf.
So, lets put any misconceptions behind us and move on to our NEW CAMPAIGN!!!
LHSH has purchased a Bridge....yes, an actual Bridge...."The Rainbow Bridge".
If you would like to have your dog who has crossed over memorialized on this
Bridge, please send a wallet sized picture with his/her name on the back along
with a sentence or two and a small donation. We will put their picture on The
Rainbow Bridge and it will be able to be seen at our National show in Ohio in
09!!! Our arched Rainbow Bridge is 5' x 3' and painted in the colors of the
Rainbow!
An update on the Senior kennels in South Carolina; two plaques have been
ordered for the two kennels that we currently have there. One for Barb Hefners
Champion Flash and one for Marjorie Zimmermans dog, Jack. When they arrive in
SC we will let you know! LHSH also purchased a kennel for Robin McClelland in
Ohio; the remarkable young woman who is working closely with Harrison County
shelter and was instrumental in the closing of their gas chamber. This kennel
will be specifically for a GSD who is in need and a memorial plaque will be
attached. When we have a name, we will let the list know! Robin is working
closely with Pat Lukos who will be making visits to the shelter to supervise
the kennels use. The placement of this particular kennel will be instrumental
in saving the life of a GSD who otherwise would be destroyed due to lack of
space. This will give LHSH time to canvas Rescues that may have foster or
perhaps a forever home available. We
would like to thank AGSRA for their donation to purchase two more kennels!
This will be an ongoing campaign, so if you would like to memorialize your dog
in this fashion, please contact us.
As always, our heartfelt thank you to the Administrator of this list for
allowing us to utilize this most important venue! Together....all things are
possible!!!!
