Thanks to everyone for the replies regarding Max's bloat. He is back to his normal self, lying around the house and sucking up attention. It was hard to believe how much weight he lost in that short period. We've been keeping a really close eye on him, and Gas-X is now in the dog cupboard. He's in danger of being spoiled by all the email hugs-by-proxy that he's been getting, but that's OK-he deserves them. When I mentioned to the vet tech that Max was raw-fed, we discussed the "raw-fed dogs don't bloat" myth. She said she had personally treated four other raw-fed dogs that did indeed bloat. There goes another myth (for some reason, the Mythbusters hadn't tested that one).
