I'm leaving for the National soon and I'm worried to death... I have a dog who suddenly developed a very swollen hock joint on one leg. The swelling is very warm and feels like fluid. It extends a little way up his leg. The vet could find nothing wrong. No sign of injury and the dog doesn't limp at all. Anyhow, the dog has been put on antibiotics because it's been 3 days and the swelling is not coming down. Anti-inflammatory drugs have not helped either. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm worried because I had a dog who contracted an antibiotic resistant bacteria from an IV while in the vet school hospital. Her leg looked just like this. Unfortunately, she didn't make it. This is dog is acting like he doesn't feel well now, but he's still not limping. Thanks in advance.
