What a great show yesterday was. Of course winning Winnerâ??s Bitch and Best
Puppy didnâ??t hurt. Jamie is always fun to watch judge, she knows what a
good
dog is, and finds the best. She looks great doing it, too.
The catalog worked well, thanks to Vivian, and I took some time to do more
spacing on it. I will leave it up, so you can see the difference between the
two shows. The after show dinner had a good turn out, with 15 people, six of
whom were judges. Dave Coleman pointed that out.
The most interesting part of the show was hearing how Bob Freeny had shot
himself. Evidently he had a gun in his pocket, and somehow shot himself in the
leg. It missed major damage, but he has an interesting wound in and out. He
was walking well, so all is well that ends well. But, I wouldnâ??t challenge
him to a duel. On the other hand, since he shot himself, maybe it would be
safe.
I got up early to spend an hour in the office and then took Jamie to the
airport. Tedi said whoever goes Winnerâ??s bitch has to take the judge to the
airport. I had never heard that before.
I am at the park early, and Bud Drew and Paul Root were already set up. I am
sitting next to Ken and Kathy with Kaitlyn and Hunter, and I see that Bill
Basu is here already, and reading over my shoulder, so I wonâ??t say what I
think
about him. There are some new folks here today, I was pleased to be able
to say hello to Tim and Kathy Hill, and also Agnes Fuchs. The judge showed
up, and he and his wife are here. Yesterday and today Rudy Signoreli came by,
and it is so good to see him again. The Guz is here now, and talking to Tim,
and I see Jean Whalen and Sharon Avery are at the show grounds. Ben Bagornia
is working a sable dog, and we got to howdy already, and it is starting to
fill up. Vivian and Tom were here early and got the ring set up. It was easy
since I did it yesterday and left it for today. Dick Jennings is the ring
stewart again, and that takes a lot of work.
Debbie Kaser is walking by with a puppy, and even Bud has his dog out. I am
again going to try to get Tedi to let me show all three bitches. I forgot to
mention that I went in the ring again with Jill, and took Honey back in for
Breed. I think Tedi let me do that to make up for pullin Magic Marker.

It was a fun show. Bob did the good job he usually does. There wasnâ??t a lot
to chose from, but he found the good ones. I got to spend some time with Paul
Root, and that is always a plus for me. Pearl came to the show, and we sat
together for a few minutes while she told me how wrong I am about everything.
Except we do agree on our new President.
I handled Jill again in the class and to Best Puppy. I am old, but I am not
dead yet. It felt good to be back in the ring, and Jill made me look like I
knew what I was doing.
I am taking a week-end off now to recover from dog shows, and to do legal
stuff, and try to fill the coffers again. We need to pay handlers, and it
changes the view I have of the shows. They are still fun, but now I have to
consider the costs involved.
I went to the after show dinner, and the restaurant told me there was no
reservation and they were full, so a wonderful meal at Carlâ??s Junior and then
home to post this. I didnâ??t fall, my knees do not hurt, we had another Best
Puppy, so life is good.
