[ SHOWGSD-L ] Summary of Comments re Short Heat Cycles

Thank you to everyone who sent their comments and experiences re short heat
cycles.
I have received comments from 22 people so far. Here is a summary:
13 said - had no trouble having litters when cycle is 3.5 to 4 months.
5 said - cycle became 6 mos after 1st litter.
1 said - by age 6.5 yrs cycle had become 6 mos; never got pregnant, 4 false
pregnancies, gave Biotin to lengthen out cycles.
6 said - bitch conceives every other cycle only.
1 said - had trouble conceiving, when finally did - reabsorbed fetuses at 4
weeks, Vet put her on Cheque drops for 1 year. Bred right after Cheque stopped
- 9 pups. Cycles became normal - no more problems.
1 said - uterus does not have time to rebuild itself in 3.5 - 4 mos cycles;
ovaries not normal.
1 said - put on Cheque drops for 6 mos - bred after - no litter.
1 said - short cycles can happen when bitch has cystic ovaries - have to
implant semen in order to conceive.
