Hi everyone,
There is a very nice, purebred Siberian Huskie whose owner was transferred to
Kuwait and the wife didn't want to deal with a dog so she turned him loose in
the neighborhood and told the neighbors that she didn't want to hear
anything about the dog and that she intended to tell her husband that the dog
got out
and ran away.
Apparently no one knows how to contact this soldier and the wife told Animal
control that the dog wasn't hers and she didn't want to hear any more about
it.
I am getting all of this second-hand but my brother actually has the dog now
but cannot keep it. He took it in at the request of her neighbors (he is
friends with one of them) to keep it from getting killed on the road and with
the
belief that, since I work with rescue and it was such a nice dog, I'd find a
perfect home for him immediately. Right. :-(
He says it is an excellent dog, very beautiful Husky but he already has 2
house dogs (border collies) and a 3rd dog is too much 'energy' in the house.
It is good with people and other dogs. don't know about cats.
I hate to be party to what this woman has done and have thought to try and
find a way to contact this man as soon as I can get his name and unit but
then.....how do you tell a man fighting for his country and risking his life
that
his wife cared so much about him that she threw his dog in the street as soon
as
he was gone???????? I would like to know what he would want done though.
Definitely the sorry wife should go and the dog be kept but he doesn't even
know.
Anyway, for now we need to try and find a siberian rescue or any rescue with
room to foster this boy until we can come up with a plan.
Also, does anyone have contacts for a Plotthound rescue? need that
desperately also.
