You all probably do this.... The pups do have sensitive gums. At various GSD clubs, have fellow breeders look at the pups teeth so the pups know that this is o.k. and no one is out to hurt them. I think that some pups remember this, and associate this with pain and are hesitant. The same thing with the temperament test. It's a big world for a pup.
