I do that now, lol. My poor first CH didn't know a puppy class he didn't
like and when we had a weekend off I found a match! Thank God he loved it and
didn't sour, but looking back, many would have. It was fun, I don't regret a
minute of it, (well, I do regret showing him to judges in situations when we
didn't have a prayer), but now the ones who live here are shown 1-2x in a puppy
class, put up, maybe do a little herding and when they are deserving of points,
under judges that are right for them, out they go.
You're not worried forcing maturity and the dogs don't get tired of it.
Of course, waiting on a dog and picking your spots does nothing for
entries....
