This came up when I was on the board. It was decided that the way we  were 
going to do it, was not what the SV did.  Some of the board thought we  
should do it the same way they did, the president did judge each year at the SV 
 
show.  There always are those who think we should do what the Germans  do.
 
The discussion was that it was allowed under our by-laws, but not a good  
idea. As far as I know, no president has done so, but there seems to be no 
real  good reason not to allow it. The President of the club is busy at the 
national,  but isn't required to do much while the classes are being judged.  
The  better idea is not to do it.\
 
As far as showing, it is enough to work the National. Showing is about as  
much work as just keeping the problems at bay. So, it probably is better not 
to  show, or to judge while serving as president.
 
If someone wants a by-laws change, that should be something to  consider.
