At a recent all breed show - the same thing happened and the judge filed a
bench complaint. The exhibitor is now enjoying a 6 month hiatus from the noble
sport of dog showing and her checkbook is lighter by $500. The AKC takes the
charge of trying to influence a judge's decision very seriously.

The late Ron Whitehead, from Las Vegas, had made the change from
handling...to judging. (I guess this was over 20 years ago) He was very
well received
as a judge, and drew large entries. At one show, one of his handler
buddies
said to him, during the individual, "This dog could finish today, he only
needs this major"
Ron looked at him, and stepped out to the center of the ring, brought that
dog and handler with him, and announced, " Ladies and Gentlemen, you
attention please. This nice young man has just informed me that his dog
only needs
this major to finish. Please give them a big round of applause," And then
Ron looked at the handler and led the applause. Then he resumed judging
and
said dog placed third in his class.
Ron was definitely his own man.
