One of my pups went to a family with an autistic child. They told me that
she began to speak in complete sentences with the puppy and it became her
best friend. Pup is now four years old and they are still a team and the
child has become very articulate. The child excels in the Special Olympics
and is interested in becoming a junior handler. I don't know whether the
family wants to go that route, though.
