I personally think that is a great idea, this story is so
heartwretching and I think we need to give recognition and thanks to
the marine who lost his life for us and the dog that was his devoted
partner, protector and fellow soldier. I would love to see the marine
and dog honored at the National, I bet there wouldn't be a dry eye in
the house.

Just had to say I Loved this issue, especially the article on the GSD
adopted by
the family of his killed in action Marine handler. It was very touching
and I
especially loved the article from the dog's point of view. My question
is that
since Carmen was at the ceremony, did anyone think to invite the family
and the
dog to the National? I think it would be a nice thing to honor their
son's
memory and the devotion he had to this dog in a special ceremony.
How about it board & membership lets honor this Marine, his family
and all
others who serve both human and K-9.
