did not want any one to think Bill does not stress education, thats not the
fight we have...when I first meet Bill's now teenager son he was about 7 years
old...he came up to me and told me that he would be going to Stanford...now I
did not ask him anything about school, he told me this like it was casual
conversation...I never forgot that and never will...sorry Bill...Ed

I am the one who stresses that there is no one thing more important than
education. Dog Shows are a distant/distant lower priority. Hope Reggie is
successful. It was a good idea, perhaps another time.

My grandmother helped raise me, she was the grand-daughter of a U.S.slave, she
had no formal education and her reading was not the best ( she had no trouble
reading the bible)..she along with my parents stressed how important an
education was, especially for black children...I said that to say this, I just
got off the phone with Bart Bartly and he sadly told me that teen-ager Reggie
Johnson will not be coming to California for the Northern California
shows...with out going into details..Reggie will be going to summer school to
ensure that he catches up with his education to allow him to be able to finish
high school. Bart was not happy about the cancellation of this trip and I
assume
Reggie will be disappointed as well...outside of family and health..."granny" (
which is what I called her) was right, there are few things more important than
a good education ( you should hear the fights Basu and I have over this
topic)..which perhaps explains why I am busting my butt at 51 yea
rs old
trying to obtain my California K-8 teaching credential so I can teach and
reach
kids that are hard to reach, and hard to teach...I understand teenagers
(males)...I used to be one, I raised one, and as a juvenile probation officer
years ago I have arrested well over a hundred ...with out strong positive role
models they can easily fall apart...thank you again to Reggie's sponsors, Evan
Ginsburg, Thurban Warrick, Bart Bartly, and Bill Basu...If you see Reggie at a
show kindly remind him that this dog show stuff should not be the top thing on
