On the way home this morning from some pre-Thanksgiving chores, I stopped at a
pet store to “check out their Christmas specials”. (Actually that’s mostly an
excuse to allow people to oooh and aaaah over whichever dog is riding
shotgun.)
There was a lovely spaniel bitch there who had obviously had a recent litter of
puppies. I asked the person on the other end of the leash how many puppies she
had and how old they were. He told me that the bitch was just 9 months old and
that he and his wife had recently adopted her. She – and her and her litter of
7 puppies – were seized from a puppy mill “down south”. She was bred when she
was not yet 6 months old.
I hope they put those people out of business permanently.
